The 2019 Westside Shakespeare Festival

June 28, 29, and 30, 2019
at the Beaverton Public Library South Lawn
12375 SW 5th Street - Beaverton, OR

The 2019 first ever Westside Shakespeare Festival was "The Nonce of the Summer!"

That summer, ETP dove face-first into an area we had never been to before: producing an outdoor festival! With an amazing team of volunteers, enthusiastic vendors, and delicious food and drink, the festival was a terrific hit. The event surpassed expectations in attendance and the extraordinary diversity of attendees. From two year olds hearing Shakespeare for the first time to young people, families, and loyal theater supporters watching a quality production of The Comedy of Errors, the festival was met with great excitement and calls for more in the years to come.

The centerpiece of the event was The Comedy of Errors, presented under the large poplar tree. Troupes took to the two smaller stages all three days of the festival, and the gala Queen's Feast featured a roasted pig on a spit, delicious pottage (soup), salate (salad), and apple tarts for dessert. Madrigal singers and dancers entertained feast-goers, and Queen Elizabeth I was quite pleased.

The festival was sponsored by the City of Beaverton and the Cultural Coalition of Washington County.
