2017 Kids Summer Camps & Teen Theater Workshops   Ages 4-18

Each camper gets a great experience and a t-shirt to boot! 

Camps will take place at the beautiful Murray Hill Christian Church, located at 15050 SW Weir Rd. in Beaverton - map
 
The location has a music room and a grand hall with a large performing area, and a play area outside in a park-like setting for kid breaks. We are very excited to be using the space this summer!
 
PLEASE NOTE: Once you register online, there will be one more (more detailed) form you will need to submit to complete registration. Please be on the lookout for this form within 24 hours of submitting your online form.

A Midsummer Night's Dream Fairy Camp - Ages 6-18

Be part of our REAL mainstage show onstage!

Dream like a fairy in this magic-filled week of dancing and song. Build fairy costumes, wings and wands, all while learning a small part in ETP’s summer production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. All fairies get a chance to perform (dance and act) in front of a real audience at the Round in Beaverton!* Perform in one or all three of the weekend shows planned at the magical end of your child’s journey onstage.

 

*children will have the option to perform at one or more show, space permitting. Parts are non-speaking and involve singing, dancing, and lots of fun! Children will be supervised at all times by an adult. Children must arrive at 6pm and may depart after their first few scenes or stay until the end of the show for curtain call. Feel free to email us should you have any questions.

 

**$20 supply fee required for purchase of costume supplies (leotard, wings & wands) that your child will keep.

Frozen II: Return to Arendelle - Ages 6-11

Create your own sequel to the hit movie!

Love for Elsa and the entire cast just keep on growing. Now that Disney has a "Frozen II" in the works, kids choose their favorite character and together create a brand new storyline. Kids learn vocal technique, body movement, and how to work individually and as a group to create their new adventures!   

For the Love of Music - Ages 6-14

If you love to sing, this class is for you!

 

June 20-24       8:30 - 11:30 a.m.         $129   

Does your child sing constantly? Do they enjoy and sing along with the radio or their favorite movie? If you answer "yes” to this question then sign them up for this camp where all we do is sing,  dance, and sprinkle in a little acting for good measure.  This is a great opportunity for those of you who just sing in the shower or great practice for those of you a little braver.  And we will have a showcase on Friday to show off our songs. 

My Favorite Princess/Prince - Ages 6-12

Become a Princess or Prince for a week! 

 

June 27 - July 1       8:30 - 11:30 a.m.         $129

Last year's favorite camp is back for another year! 

 

Kids choose their favorite prince or princess from a movie, fairy tale or even real life and assume that character for the week. Students help write a story together to create a play that is performed at the end of the week. 

Musical Theater Week - Ages 8-18

Sing, dance, and have a ball, for a fine theater time will be had by all!

In addition to fun theater games that foster creativity, self-expression and teamwork, students will choose and learn to perform their favorite musical theater songs at a show for parents & friends at the end of the week. Students will also write a script and create a mini-musical to go with the songs they have chosen. Emphasis on acting and vocal performance.

Superheroes Week!   Ages 6-13

Iron Man, Spider-Man, Superman, Batman… all at Superhero week!

 

July 5-9       8:30 - 11:30 a.m.         $119

Your children will have a blast developing their hidden talents and extra-ordinary superhero skills ranging from enhanced senses, ability to fly or become invisible to whatever else our imaginations can create.  We will also generate advanced equipment and costumes to accompany our characters with various arts and crafts materials. An end of the week showcase featuring our band of superheroes will culminate this creative ensemble-building experience.

Shakespeare for All  -  Ages 6-18

The Bard can be complicated. We're here to help!

 

June 27-July 1      8:30-11:30 a.m.       $109

Kids get their first experience of William Shakespeare’s England! Learn to understand the language, characters, and plots of some of the Bard's most well-known plays. You'll also learn how to be one of the queen’s entertainers, write with a quill pen, and of course, perform a scene from a comedy or tragedy. We invent new words, stage a scene, and even learn how to write a sonnet to be shared at the end of the week.  

Minecraft Mania! Theater from a Game  - Ages 6-11

Creepers, Piggies, and Steve, oh my! 

 

July 11-15       8:30-11:30 a.m.         $119

Whether you enjoy playing in creative mode, survival mode, or adventure mode, Minecraft Mania is for you! We’ll use Minecraft as a basis to build new worlds, create characters, and defeat a Creeper or two! We will think up scenarios and obstacles for our characters, then switch to multiplayer mode and all players can enter the same world.

The force is strong with this one.

STAR WARS: Jedi Knight Academy  - Ages 6-14

Create your own Jedi Knight character and take Jedi Knight Academy courses on using The Force, light saber techniques, and more! Will you be ready for the next attack by The Dark Side? This is your chance to find out. And hopefully your training will be complete. 

100 Years of Broadway      Ages 8-15

A focus on the biggest Broadway plays in history.

 

July 18-22       8:30-11:30 a.m.         $119

This musical theater workshop intensive will feature Broadways songs from the past 100 Years! We’ll celebrate A Chorus Line, South Pacific, Oklahoma, The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, Guys and Dolls, Bye Bye Birdie, The Music Man, Cats, Annie and Les Miserables, just to name a few!!

2 Week Scene & Playwriting Workshop      Ages 6-12

Sharpen your skills with this advanced workshop focused on scene study, character analysis, and finding your voice

 

July 5-15         1-4 p.m.         $195

Take your profession up a notch This class is for students who have a basic understanding of acting and want to be challenged. Learn tips and tricks from a professional in the field, and hone your craft based on scene studies, character analysis, and vocal projection. Students taking this course must prepare a monologue in advance of the class. 

Take a trip to Hogwarts and create a brand new Harry adventure!

 

Aug 1-5       1:00-4:00 p.m.         $129

The Harry Potter Experience   Ages 6-18

The camp will be filled with cries of “Expelliarmus!” “Lumos!” “Tarantallegra!,” the sounds of raucous games of Quidditch being played, and campers working on scenes and exercises based on events from the first three Harry Potter books as well as Tales of Beetle the Bard!  Kids act out their favorite characters and scenes, then create their own wizardry student and experience the classes, strict teachers, and adventures at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Summer Sampler Series   Ages 6-18

A little bit of everything! From Star Wars to Superheroes, in this special class, you can dabble in a little bit of any themed camp we offer!

A little of this, a little of that. Pick a themed camp, like My Favorite Prince/Princess, Harry Potter, Superheroes, or Frozen, and develop your character with other themes in this acting and singing mishmash! We play acting games and put together skits that are performed at the end of the week to friends and family.

Audition Workshop   Ages 8-18

Learn how to pick a monologue suited to your style, then perfect your audition monologue and even a musical number (time permitting). Learn audition basics and receive immediate feedback, with tips and tricks to help you ace your audition and ease your nerves. You'll also learn the do's and don'ts of auditions and callbacks, and get feedback from our theater's Artistic Director. A valuable week of training for any aspiring actor.  

Improvisation: Acting On Your Feet      Ages 6-18

Think quick in this collaborative acting challenge

 

July 5-9               8:30-11:30 a.m.         $119

July 11-15           1-4 p.m.

Whether you want to learn how to improvise or are an experienced student, this workshop will help actors think on their feet using active reflection during a scene, noticing things out loud, and play that hinges on openness and vulnerability to mine meaningful comedy and discovery. This workshop will pivot on the notions of ‘what do I bring into improv’ and ‘how can honesty affect connection and comedy’. Come join us for an adventure in improv!

Aspiring designers and playwrights: this class is for you!

Theater Artists: Designers & Backstage People  Ages 12-18

Theater people are not just performers. Without the designs of the costumers, set designers, and the hard work of lighting or sound people, techhies, stage managers, or the words of playwrights or the music of composers, you are just two boards and an actor with no words. This class demystifies the roles of people who are an integral part of bringing live theater to the stage. Guest artists will talk about their day-to-day responsibilities and answer questions about how they got there and how you can get there too.

Beginning Acting Workshop      Ages 8-18

Work your skills and improve your performance in live theater and film

Learn the basics for acting in a fun way! Each day will be modified to fit the student's personal level, from beginner to advanced. Lessons will include information on how to audition, how to find auditions, audition preparation, acting lingo, how to project your voice, how to choose monologues, how to create an acting resume and head shot, and present a short monologue for class critique at the end of the week. 

Intermediate & Advanced Acting Workshop      Ages 14-18
